Shooting Hunger

We have been proud sponsors for these wonderful events over the course of 2022. It's our mission to stay involved with our Tennessee community and this is just one way that we can continue to give back.

Feeding Hope
Hunger is a reality for 1 in 5 Tennesseans.

According to the most recent Feeding America study based on data from 2018, Map the Meal Gap*, an estimated 37 million Americans are food insecure, including almost 1 million Tennesseans. Tennessee falls above the 11.5 percent national average with a 14 percent food-insecurity rate - a statistic that places Tennessee among the top 10 states with the highest food insecurity in the nation. A household is considered food insecure if there is limited or uncertain access to enough food to support a healthy life.

The consequences of food insecurity put our most vulnerable populations - children and seniors - at the most risk. Seniors living in food-insecure households are often missing necessary nutrients that are critical to the unique conditions of aging. For children, inadequate nutrition is associated with adverse effects in school that have long-term consequences.
The current crisis is likely to reverse the improvements that have occurred over the past decade as millions of people are newly experiencing food insecurity, alongside those who were experiencing food insecurity before the COVID-19 crisis began. Nationally, more than 50 million people, including 17 million children, likely experienced food insecurity in 2020 because of COVID-19.

We are excited to add an East Tennessee event to our calendar and provide more food to help meet this increased need. Shooting Hunger events will be held in all three regions of Tennessee in 2021!
In an effort to make an impact on hunger in every county across our great state, funds raised will be distributed evenly among all 95 counties. A majority of the funds will be used to provide weekly backpacks full of food for school children who would otherwise go without over the weekend. The remaining funds will be donated to local food pantries across Tennessee.

Help feed hope for those in need. Join us in the fight against hunger in our communities.
